Little Indian Girl

Little Indian Girl

In previous post I have mentioned my grandparents home having many stories of its own, this story is from one of those times.

This was back in the early to mid 1990's when I was little. This didn't happen to me but to my grandpa and Uncle Stack. Stack is married to my Aunt Francis. They live in Tennessee and not only would my grandparents go there to visit in the summer Francis and Stack would all so come up once a year to spend time with family.

I remember a lot of talk about my grams house being built over a Indian Burial ground, or on Indian land. Now I have no proof of that or anything and never really looked into it as I have gotten older.
I just remember when family and friends would gather and start talking about things that would go on they would bring it up.

It was late one evening and Stack and Grandpa John was sitting in the living room talking and watching TV. The front porch is right at the living room which is fully enclosed. So they had the front door open like normal. Stack was sitting in the chair that was closest to the front door and John was sitting across from him. Something caught John's eye and he slowly turned toward the front door, he got really quiet and just stared. Stack finally realized that John and became really quiet when he went to ask him a question and he didn't reply. Stack looked over at him and seen that John was staring off at the door and turned his head to see what had made John so quiet.

John went on to explain to me that what had caught his eye was a small little Indian girl, she was dressed in a white Indian dress with beading and her hair was braided down both sides. She was just standing in the door way of the living room.

First she just starred back at them both and then she began to walk into the living room. She walked straight up to Stack and laid her hand on his knee and asked - "Have you seen my mommy?". Even though he was in shock Stack was still able to mumble the word no. Before him and John could say anymore she was just gone.

It took them both a few minutes to fully grasp what had just happened. The rest of the family was going on through the rest of the house with out a clue as to what had happened. They finally had explained what went on and it wasn't hard for anyone to believe. Most was just in awe that it had occurred and everyone else didn't see or hear or even feel the presence of anything out of the normal.

My grandfather was a tough man and he was the type that had to see it to believe it. He wasn't one for telling stories. He would talk about the war and the railroad but spook stories wasn't his thing. I wish I could find the recording from when I was younger and would do live audio interviews with grams and grandpa.

The Grey Man

The Grey Man

Some things that have happened to me in the years have come from pranks or my mother being mean and then there are those times were you just don't know how to really explain it. This is one of those times were I don't have a explanation for what had happened. I was maybe 11 when this happened but I remember it like it just occurred yesterday.

We was watching my grandma Kate's house while she was on vacation in Tennessee, her and my grandfather John used to go down every summer and spend a couple of weeks with her family there. This year she would be making the trip alone cause grandpa had passed away the year before.

The house had all ways had issues and when I have time I will post more stories on it, Anyway my mother decided to call in a local physic to do a seance. I remember everyone was sitting around the dinning room table and I was scared so of course I was hiding under the table around my mothers feet. It was dark except for the candles burning on the table. I don't remember what everyone was saying, I just remember watching towards the doorway to the kitchen and I seen a tall man standing there watching everyone. There wasn't any color to the man but the longer I stared at this man I could start to see that it was my grandfather standing there. He didn't move or make a sound he just stood there staring at everyone around the table. His face made no expression of happiness, just a blank stare. It seemed like he was standing there forever but in time it was only a few minutes.

All though the person looked like my grandfather and heck even if it was him standing there it still was and is one moment that scares me to this day.
